Four-foot hydroponics

Power Budget for a First Hydro Tub

The front page is the build. This page is the watts. A four-foot tub needs an air pump and a light. It does not need a whole-house generator.

What actually draws

A small air pump is a few watts. An LED for a short canopy is tens of watts, not a space heater. Together they are a light-and-charge load.

Pump and light. Not the blower.

Do not stack it

A furnace start or a well pump on the same small unit will stall it. Pick the tub or the furnace, not both. Furnace math:

12-volt lights and phones, not heat:

If the pump stops

Roots in deep water culture need air. No bubbles, roots suffer within hours. Check the stone before you blame the nutrients.

Keep the air stone running; do not add the tub to a furnace start
One job per small source.

Track what your tub really costs to run

Put your pump and light watts and hours into the FlarePress Hydro Tub Logbook & Calculator and it works out kWh and cost per month for each tub – then sets it against what your harvest would cost at the store, with a savings chart and payback month. Spreadsheet for Excel and Google Sheets, plus a GoodNotes logbook and printable logs.

FAQ

Can a small DIY unit run the tub?

Often the pump and a modest light, if you already measured those watts. Not the fridge as well.

What do you get with the 4-Foot Farm Blueprint?

A digital plan sold through ClickBank — not a pump and not a light.
